Come, let us frolic into the night I've had some time off lately and am looking for someone new to share some of it with. Life is good, but more enjoyable when I have someone by my side to share new experiences with. And perhaps you're like me, reading through The List of Craig at 2: friendly. You: Introverted yet outgoing. Geeky, open minded, kind. Also not afraid of being BRUTALLY honest. Although you like people and enjoy their company you're not exactly fond of the whole club and bar scene. Sometimes people refer to you as an "old soul" and although maybe you have friends now that wasn't always the case in the past and as a result you have something of an overactive imagination and a rich inner world. The possibility of having someone that you can just talk about ideas and fantastic weird things with excites you. You have a sense of humor as dark and twisted as a whirlpool in a tar pit though you try to keep it in check out of respect of the feelings of others. You want to go out and do stuff and not stay in trading emails back and forth forever...and hopefully you're reading this message...or maybe someone you know is...because as strange as posting a personals ad on Craigslist is between not finding you in a bar, club, or in my own circle of friends I'm not really sure where else to look for you other than here.
[Disclaimer: So I feel it is at this point important to say that I'm not looking for someone to love me. I love myself plenty. I understand a relationship is supposed to enhance your life, not make or break it. I'm looking for someone to love. When I think about an ideal relationship, most of my thoughts veer towards what I'd like to provide for the other person. Things I'd cook, restaurants I'd take her out to, theme parks we'd go to, impromptu road trips we'd take and so on. I really think the desire to provide for someone else is one of the major hallmarks of maturity, and it is one I look for in people I spend time with. And so by extension of that I guess I'm...looking for someone to love me? No one ever said this dating thing would make sense. Hah. Also not getting caught up with someone selfish with someone would be cool. I'd really like to find someone with their heart in the right place...Having said that, I am looking for a DATE that may someday lead to a RELATIONSHIP. I have written these words in all caps because people tend to think of them as four letter words these days....which, come to think of it, I suppose "date" is...but I'm not terribly interested in people who send me messages saying they're "just looking for friends". I mean, c'mon...this is the "Men for Women" section of Craigslist. If you just wanted "a friend" then you'd be looking in the "Strictly Platonic" section of the website; that's what it's there for. If you can't be honest with yourself about your intentions it'll be sorta difficult for me to take you as being sincere. And yes, I'm aware some people just say they're looking for a friend in case if it doesn't work out they can use it as a parachute and just say "Oh, well I didn't want to date anyways, I was just looking for a friend as I said before". Personally, I find this all to be ridiculously silly. Again, like I said...honesty, communication...I place a high value on these things. I do not chase after people, I do not play hard to get with others, I do not like playing text or tag for weeks on end when we could be enjoying each other's company in person. Honesty man, honesty. This is what it means to me. There's a million other definitions I find people using for the word...I hope the meaning is at least roughly the same for whoever I end up meeting from here.]
